Holidays

We had the "most wonderful time" over the holidays with our family!

First, we were able to spend time at our place with Adam and Jessie, who came from Tennessee: and my parents, who came from Eugene, OR: Then on Thursday, Dec. 23, we flew to Salt Lake, where Chad's parents picked us up and let us borrow their car for the rest of the trip. Thanks Neal and Carol!!

The next morning we drove up to one of our favorite spots on the planet: Chad's family's cabin. Here we are driving up to the cabin, with Chad's parents in their truck in front of us: Here is the cabin, hiding among the trees. Thanks to all the boys in the family for hauling us and all our stuff there via snowmobile. That would've been a long walk with all our stuff. At the cabin, we had a ton of fun, including:

Playing tons of different games: (this last picture thanks to our awesome 4-year-old nephew Carson)
**games not pictured: Bohnanza, Never Trust a Penguin (aka "The Dice Game"), Werewolf

Had a lovely Christmas Eve dinner with Joe, Kjirsten, and their gang. We remembered to take a picture just before Joe left on his snowmobile--we were sad we were missing Crystal, Sue, and Cless in this picture (with them, we would have had all the C*-H* connections in one photo): Opened presents on Christmas morning: My creative-genius sister-in-law Michelle made these headbands for every girl in the family for Christmas. So cute, huh!! Thanks Michelle! Leg-wrestled: (Neal was the champion) Played with our new toys: Read good books: Sledded, star-gazed, and snowmobiled (no pictures of these three S's, sorry), and just generally enjoyed ourselves in the cozy cabin: On Tuesday on our way down the canyon from the cabin, we took a short drive and took shots of:

The incredible snow plows that plow tons of snow into six-foot banks on the side of the road: And kite-boarders: And a beautiful view of Mt. Nebo: On Tuesday night we got together with Chad's friends from high school and their families (sorry, no pictures).

On Wednesday we went to the Carl Bloch exhibit at the BYU Museum of Art with Caytee and Preston (so neat and powerful!), went out to eat with them and Neal and my aunt Sue at the BYU Cougareat, bought BYU clothes at the Bookstore, and ate dinner and watched football with Neal, Carol, Caytee, Preston, and their adorable baby Carl at their house. It was a really nice and relaxing day (sorry, no pictures).

On Thursday we visited our good friends Becky, BJ, and their cute kids. It was so fun to reunite with them, play games, and eat their delicious cooking. Love these kids (Luke is hiding behind his dad)! Me and Becky: After visiting with them, we visited our Grandma C* and then got together with the fam to eat dinner and watch football (sorry, no pictures).

On Friday morning we ate breakfast with Curt and Carrie and then Neal gave us a ride to the airport.

A very successful trip, I'd say! I am convinced I have the best family in the whole world, on both sides. We love you and are so grateful that we got to spend time with you!! Thanks for all you did to make our Christmas fabulous.

Also, Happy 2011 to everyone! We're pretty sure it's going to be an awesome year, given that it's '11 and all.

Abby! Hey it's Sheri! You came up in my facebook friend sidebar today and I thought, "hey, I wonder what she's up to." I started looking at your blog and made a great random connection. BJ, who's sitting with you guys on the couch is the son of one of my bishops growing up in my home ward. Is he married to one of your sisters-in-law? So random! P.S. you're great!
